Upcoming Events
Summer has been flying by and I am starting to gear up for fall. Here is the run down of my upcoming events for August through November.
August 19th I will be having an artist talk as part of the Saturday Catch-Up series hosted at Cleo Gallery. I will be talking about the transition of my painting style as I have been experimenting with looser brushstrokes wile still exploring a lot of the same ideas. It will be a ticketed event so please get your tickets before the 19th when they go on sale in August. If you haven’t been to Cleo Gallery take the time to drive by their space at 915 Montgomery St. With a focus on contemporary art and providing a platform for local artists, Cleo Gallery is helping to elevate the art scene in town.
September 1st I will be moving into studio 8 at Sulfur Studios! The space will be used to showcase my completed works and serve as a work place for finishing touches for works in progress. Expect to see my door open to visitors at all First Fridays and show openings and many weekends in between. Feel free to email me for a private appointment if you are interested in a studio tour.
September 15th I will be participating in the group show at The Nest on 33rd. This one night show runs from 5-9 PM and all work will be available for purchase.
First Friday for October I will be at the Sulfur Studios Street Fair as a live event painter. My studio will be open indoors, but stop by the street fair to see what I have up on the easel. I haven’t decided whether I want to paint the fair itself or if I want to revisit my concept from my first live painting event from over a year ago where I painted portraits from people at the event. Let me know what you think and come out October 6th to see what I decided.
On October 14th I will be back out at The Gordonston Art Fair. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to show here again. Last year this event was my first art fair and the experience really helped validate my choice to pursue art full time. I have grown so much and have painted so much since then that I hope you can come out to my booth and say hello.
The following weekend on October 21st I will be at the Isle of Hope Art & Music Festival. I hate to admit that I have never been to this festival but there are a few artist I have been wanting to meet who will be there so I am honored to be included among them. One of our favorite restaurants in town will be there as well (Nom Nom Poke) and the music line up will continue on after my work day is done so I am looking forward not just to sharing my art, but getting to enjoy the festival after as well.
On November 11th I will be back at SLAM (Savannah Local Artist Market). I was fortunate enough to get called up out of the waiting last last spring and do this market for the first time and now I can’t wait to go back. Back in April I was set up between the ceramicist Justine Ferreri and the painter Maxx Feist. I learned a lot from both of them by seeing their work and getting to hear them talk about it. I can’t wait to see who I will be set up alongside this fall. It truly is a showcase of Savannah artist and the breadth of styles and mediums make it a fun event to poke around at.
If you miss me at any of these events then you can always look for me at Forsyth Park. I don’t have a strict schedule there but I am almost always there Wednesday afternoon, otherwise I go out in the afternoons during the week when it is a little slower than the weekend.
Commissions have also opened back up but I have limited openings since I will start with working through my wait list from the begining of the summer. If you would like to reserve a spot reach out and let me know your project idea and we can work together to see if I can bring your vision to life.
